Reverse osmosis is often among the best possible choices for water purification. Reverse osmosis, as its name suggests, works in reverse of the principle on which living cells operate. In natural cell osmosis, a membrane separates two concentrations of liquids, one concentration on the inside of the cell and another on the outside. The pure solvent passes from one side of the membrane to the other until the two sides are equalized in terms of the concentration of the solute/liquid mix. A reverse osmosis filter depends on pressure to work. One side of the member is pressurized so that the solvent is forced to pass through the membrane. The molecules of the solute are too big to pass and thus remain behind. When applied in drinking water applications, what this means is that water with high concentrations of salts or other minerals can be easily stripped of the solute and made palatable for human consumption.

    There's Nothing Like Pure Water
If you have never lived in a house with filtered water throughout, you don't know what you've been missing. Water filtering systems are not just for areas with hard water. Impurities are present in even the "best" water supplies, and if you think about it for a moment, you'll admit you don't want to drink or bathe in unfiltered water.
Many people have one of those filters that attach to their kitchen faucet, but they may not be aware that it is possible to have a whole house filter. A whole house filter will let you enjoy pure, filtered water from every water source in your home. Besides having great-tasting water from every tap in your house, you will be surprised at all the other differences you will notice: your laundry will be brighter and smell better, your dishes will dry with fewer spots, and your hair will be shinier. You'll never want to go back to living with unfiltered water.
